Kagame is a liability has betrayed his comrades and country
The death of Christine Rusagara in London without her Husband on the bedside is another reminder to all those who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of Rwanda two decades ago that the business is unfinished.
But I have a feeling that all the RPF historical including Rusagaras have been accomplice in crowing the Rwandan dictator. I don’t think that when Gen. Fred Rwigema died at the start of the RPF struggle on 1st October 1990; he had seen just a snippet of how his comrades would betray the Struggle.
His conscience had already gnawed at him, rousing him from the dreams of bringing back Rwandans to their homeland where a majority of them had never been before. In the wee hours of the morning when the first shot was fired at Kagitumba, his dream was to have a Rwanda free of violence, nepotism, corruption, a country that is democratic and under the rule of Law.
Two decades after his death and after his first Gunshot that opened the door to his homeland, the gunshot had moved him to bare his soul; his comrades have taken the treachery a notch higher, betraying the very dream crafted not only to start the struggle but also safeguard the gains of the freedom Struggle.
But luckily some Rwandans especially some students of Fred Rwigyema with troubling consciences have decided to resist Kagame’s brutal rule slowly but surely have raised the clamour that President Kagame either resign from office or be removed by all means necessary.
Kagame has not only killed people but the civil society organizations too are dysfunctional, they cannot gather on the streets of their country to demand the removal of the brutal dictator the way it’s done in other democratic nations.
Kagame has killed his comrades that brought him to power, but these comrades have been warned that they are breeding and nurturing a big python that will constrict all of them one by one. Indeed, they never listened, none of the RPF historical, is still active, the likes, of Inyumba, the former RPF treasurer, Col. Rose Kabuye, just to mention a few have been put into political oblivion.
Kagame has become a liability to our beloved country. He has become a president of impunity. The rot spreads from the top down, without his removal as a first step we cannot start to reach and rebuild the country of our dreams.
Rwanda has become a country in permanent political crisis. It is impossible that we will witness Kagame being charged for the crimes committed against humanity for almost two decades in our life time.
If we don’t come together as citizens to address this crisis, our country is going to explode. All Rwandans should put aside their differences and unite against the Rwandan Monster to force him to go without delay. Christine Rusagara helped to bring this monster to power, yet this monster has not even given her husband permission to come and see her in her final moments in her life. Make no mistake, Kagame’s time is just in the corner.
