Napoleon Hill once said “Before success comes in any man’s life, he is sure to meet with much temporary defeat, and, perhaps, some failure. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and most logical thing to do is to quit. That is exactly what the majority of men do. More than five hundred of the most successful men this country has ever known told the author their greatest success came just one step beyond the point at which defeat had overtaken them.”

This year , the Rwandan opposition has suffered a series of major setbacks in the fight against Kagame’s dictatorship, two of which are the  French prosecution’s decision to put an end to the case of the downing of the plane in which Presidents Habyarimana and Ntaryamira perished  that was preceded by Louise Mushikiwabo winning the race for the leadership of the IOF.

These two events , combined with expulsion of refugees from  DRC have brought about a somber mood amongst us .

We are faced with the sobering reality of  freedom eluding us yet again because of foreign interests in the region.

Truth be told , and as unpleasant  as it is to our ears , it is also because  we are mislead by our disunity. For the most part , our politicians in the opposition are driven by  their personal ambition rather than the desperate need for Liberty .

I have said this before ,we  need to change our approach to meet  the new challenges orchestrated by Mr Kagame’s strategists.

In my opinion , Rwandans fighting Kagame ‘s dictatorship need to redefine  the Rwandan “opposition “ .

We need to cease hostilities , go back to the basics and re-ignite  civility.

It is frankly laughable to demand dialogue with Kigali when the opposition within itself is incapable of it.

As long as this  civility towards each other has not happened , we are laboring  in vain and Paul Kagame will alas ,continue his tyranny and impunity unshaken.
