KAWEESI’S FORMER GIRLFRIEND CHRISTINE MBABAZI MUHOZA

Mbabazi met with President Museveni early this year during which she was debriefed over the events that preceded Kaweesi’s murder in March 2017.

Mbabazi’s close associates say President Museveni directed security services to buy her a house.

It’s understood Internal Security Organisation (ISO) deposited Shs 20m on the house owner’s bank account, leaving a balance of Shs 280m.

Mbabazi, who had earlier been held by ISO at a lodge in Kabuusu, was eventually shifted to new residence in Lungujja, a Kampala suburb.

However, police later raided the residence to evacuate Mbabazi, a move that was halted by ISO’s military personnel.

President Museveni would later dispatch a team of soldiers from State House to secure Mbabazi who has lived at the house since September.

But relatives now say the property-owner wants the unpaid balance settled or have Mbabazi thrown out of the premises.

“Mbabazi is worried about her future since she has been detained for many months without working. She might as well lose the house promised to her by the president,” said a source.

Mbabazi was not readily available for comment.

She, however, recently told ChimpReports that Kaweesi “lived in fear of life and sought solace in prayer” moments before he was gunned down in Kulambiro.

Having spent years as Kaweesi’s girlfriend, the State believes Mbabazi remains a key source of information needed to resolve the mystery surrounding the police officer’s murder.
