President Uhuru Kenyatta has assured the family of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and the nation that the Government will do all in its power to establish how Fidel died. Speaking at the former Prime Minister’s home in Karen when he visited to condole with the family following the sudden death of their first born son, President Kenyatta said it was unfortunate that death has robbed the country of a “very promising young man”. “I want to assure my brother Raila and the family that my Government will do all it can to get to know precisely what happened to our brother Fidel,” said the President.

The President paid glowing tribute to Fidel Odinga saying he was a true Kenyan who knew no political or tribal boundaries. He assured the family of his support and that of his Government during this difficult time. Former Prime Minister recalled the last moments he had with his son, saying though the family is mourning, they thank God for the time they shared with their son.
