The Untold Stories: Rwanda First Lady Demands Answers on Human Trafficking in Rwanda
Mrs. Jeannette Kagame wants concerted effort to curb human trafficking, gender-based violence and drug abuse, but will she get the answers? Unfortunately the cause of all the above vices is the RPF or bad policies in general that have failed to prioritize the needs of many Rwandans.
Janet Kagame
While officiating what they have called a high level of dialogue to see how they could get a cure for all the above crimes at the Rwandan parliament, the First lady said. “Dealing with these problems requires concerted effort of the government, civil society and religious leaders. We also need to handle victims of these vices humanely,”
Does the Rwandan First Lady know that her country does not have a government but RPF rule? Is she aware that Rwanda does not have independent civil society, but RPF companies that either defend or generate money for Kgame? Does she know that all the religions have been divided on sectarian lines? For example your husband through RPF agents has invaded the Muslim community and the former Mufti Gahutu was replaced by a Puppet Mufti Kayitare who is not only incompetent but divisive.
The ADPER was also invaded by the RPF and has lost its former glory, while the Catholic Church has been intimidated since the massacre of its Bishops 20 years ago by Gen. Wilson Gumusiriza and Fred Ibingira at Gakurazo.
She further said that, “Rwanda has put in place strong institutions and also set developmental targets under the Vision 2020 and EDPRS that clearly charts the future of the nation’s youth. For us to prepare a brighter future, it is important to clearly understand the problems we face and the effects they pose to our society,”
The First lady is right, the RPF does not understand the problems the country is facing, neither does the society allowed the choice of the government that will understand their problems, what the Rwandans have is a police state like that of North Korea. The RPF led government has failed on all fronts, there is no single strong institution madam First lady, what Rwanda has is the remote controlled institutions that will only respond to you and that is your husband.
The policies of RPF are very ineffective and have led to disastrous consequensces in the youth and all the Rwandan society. The youth are now hopeless, without employment, high taxes on even their land that was formerly used for survival. What does the First lady expect the youth to do? Families are broken, because men cannot afford the basics to run their families, hence domestic violence. All these are side effects of life without hope.
She further argues that in the past they took a strong stance against drug abuse, if they did, why are they now failing?
“In previous years, we strongly took on the fight against drug abuse. We held several conferences and strategies. Today, we should review the progress. The linkage between drug abuse, gender-based violence and human trafficking is the reason we have to fight these crimes concurrently. We are informed that most of the children trafficked are victims of drug abuse,”
It might be true madam First lady, but what do you expect for a young person to do? A person you have denied education, higher Education is now a privilege rather than a right, you took their land because they cannot pay taxes. The girls who cannot go to school they will resort to prostitution, these mal practices are caused by bad polices. The RPF government wastes a lot of money on none issues like hiring killing squads everywhere in the world or buy more weapons to kill or invade another Country.
The Rwandan society needs better, needs food, good education, affordable medical care, freedom of speech, rule of law, less or no taxes to the poor. For example the hawkers in the City are treated like thieves and their items are confiscated by your forces without finding a solution to why these people sell on the streets in the first place. Having what you call a clean City because you have forced or killed people will not stop, human trafficking, drug abuse, etc, because your government treats symptoms and not the causes.
I’m sure Imbuto Foundation has now put aside millions of Francs for the so called researchers to research on the causes of the youth drug abuse, prostitution, human trafficking etc and the tender will be worn by the RPF subsidiaries, and the chain of thieving will continue. Rwanda needs, born again people to change our attitude, then will peace and tranquility rein again
