Rwanda gov: Explain the whereabouts of Mr. Innocent Kaneza
Great Lakes Human Rights Link would like to express its grave concern on the disappearance of Mr. KANEZA INNOCENT since 17 October 2014 when he was reported missing.
Kaneza Innocent
His family alleges that he was called by a DMI agent who asked him to come and repair one of their computers as he used to do. Mr Kaneza Innocent is an IT Operative, his family has not seen him since last month and the police have not been helpful according to the family of Mr. Kaneza Innocent.
We are very concerned that neither his family nor his friends currently know where he is, this letter therefore serves as reminder to the Rwandan Authorities that the continued detention of Mr Kaneza without accessibility of his family and legal representative constitutes a violation of Kaneza’s fundamental human rights. The Rwandan authorities are under a legal duty and international obligation to bring out Mr. Kaneza and provide information on his whereabouts and the circumstances of his disappearance.
According to the family of Mr. Kaneza Innocent, he called them but he never revealed where he was calling from, implying that he was under duress and pressure. The Human Rights Human Rights Link adds its voice to that one of the family of Kaneza Innocent to demand the Rwandan Authorities to reveal the whereabouts of Mr. Kaneza Innocent and if he has a case to answer he should be brought to the courts of law.
