Major Emmanuel Nkubana’s mother Murdered
The Great Lakes Human Rights Link has learnt that the mother of Major Emmanuel Nkubana the former RDF senior officer was murdered earlier today at her home while coming back from the garden. As usual the Great Lakes Human Rights Link is seriously concerned with the continued murder of innocent Rwandans.
We strongly condemn all gross human rights abuses by the Rwandan Security agents, we urge the Rwandan government and President Paul Kagame personally to expeditiously investigate the murder of the mother of his colleague Major Nkubana Emmanuel.
Indeed, the government as a matter of fact as we go along, the perpetrators of this heinous crime should be put in front of the law and for the law to take its course.
The government should acknowledge that, this is a crime against humanity, you cannot kill an unarmed civilian let alone an old mother of a man who helped to put you on the throne and most importantly who risked his life to end Genocide that cost innocent Rwandans almost one Million Lives.
Major Nkubana is one of the well-known field commanders who helped to topple Gen Habyalimana’s regime and stopped Genocide, he also served in DRC before heading into exile following misunderstandings between him and the top commanders amongst the RDF/RPF government.
In exile he became a member of the Rwanda National Congress and is among the top senior officers that President Kagame repeatedly threatened in his speeches.
Even though he remains in exile some of his close relatives as well as his 86 year old mother Dansira RIP, remained in Rwanda, she was murdered today morning hours by unknown individuals as yet.
May her soul rest in peace
