FDC Woman Undressed Herself— Enanga
Police spokesperson Fred Enanga has said that Naigaga Fatuma, the Forum for Democratic Change lady who was part of the party entourage going to Rukunguri on Saturday undressed herself and later claimed that police did it.
Video clips of the saga show Fatuma under arrest, “dragged on road by police officers, as her blouse and legging were going down exposing breast and genitals and then lifted onto the back of a police truck” as she fought for her rescue.
The incident happened at Kanyalyeru along Masaka-Mbarara road, the FDC convey proceeding to Rukungiri District for a mobilisation campaigns was stopped by police.
“Naigaga Fatuma undressed herself, falsely claimed that security undressed her later and insulted the Police. She was arrested and later released with the rest of her colleagues and were instructed to go back to Kampala,” Enanga said in a press statement yesterday.
He added; “Security has noted that some of these people are hired goons who are ready to undress or do anything to create an impression that they are being harassed by security personnel.”
He noted that of recent, opposition politicians, have adopted “nudity of adult women of all ages as a form of political and protest action,” saying that in Uganda, the FDC as a party are using it as a “statement to give life to their political ambitions over sympathetic voters.”
Enanga however appealed to women to stop engaging in nude protests of “criminality.”
He also cautioned media to desist from displaying such “brazenly disturbing photos and video footages.”
