Obama rebukes Kagame’s third term

President Paul Kagame believes that neighboring countries such as Tanzania, Burundi are harboring his enemies. On reflection Kagame understands that since he has decided to rule his country against the constitution, any Rwandan could wage war against his government.  Kagame is doubtful that his opposition may use all options to get rid of him or his counterfeit leadership.

In Kagame’s back lobe he knows that, The Rwandan opposition did everything democratically possible for the last couple of years to make the world understand that Rwanda is ruled by an iron fist ruffian.

‘’One of the Rwanda Patriotic Front members who spoke to behind the presidential curtains narrated that, the opposition achieved an important move, and explained that the idea of taking time highlighting Rwanda issues internationally had made Kagame look incompetent’’. ‘’A comment made by one of the Rwanda national Congress member, also very similar to the RPF member preferring anonymity stated that the opposition had achieved a reputation and foundation for a meaningful change, to those who had interest in listening to the honesty opposition leaders, it is time to walk behind them to the end. There was days Kagame went hunting his critics around the globe, shooting and attacking neighboring countries just to eliminate those who disagrees with his government’’.  Some western leaders as well as Africa and Asia understood the opposition’s cause and pledged to support for a meaningful change. However the opposition continued pleading to avoid another bloodshed, unfortunately Kagame has gone against the opposition’s guidance and instead announced that he will stand for more terms in office.

Recently it was announced as expected after a referendum approved constitutional changes to allow him to run for three further terms and could potentially see him stay in power until 2034, When Paul Kagame will be 77 years old.

Mr Kagame said Rwandans had made it clear they wanted him to lead the country after 2017, and had no choice but only to accept.

Instigating war

Sources from Kagame’s circles indicate preparations for war, Kagame is undisputable that he will be attacked from Burundi at anytime, his acumen is very much interested in eliminating the top men of Burundi government especially the army officials. Also Kagame believes that his outrageous relationship with President Nkurunziza of Brundi may attract his opposition seeking help to invade Rwanda from Burundi.

Another factor surrounding Kagame is the ill connection between Rwanda and Tanzania and instantaneously after ex-president Kikwete’s handover to John Mafuguli. President Kagame directed his foreign secretary Louise Mushikiwabo to try and resurrect the relationship of the two countries. However this has not worked out well, the most worrying thing is that President Kagame is holding Nkurunziza’s top commanders who attempted a coup previously.

Nkurunziza, Kagame, Mushikwabo with Mafuguli

Currently, Kagame believes that President Nkurunziza and his neighbour Tanzania as well as South Africa are sympathising with the Rwandan opposition around the globe.

The above worries have forced Kagame to develop contemplation of his army also considered to send them a new year’s message 2016.

Below is Kagame’s New Year’s message to Rwanda Defence Forces:

Officers, men and women of RDF; on behalf of the Government of Rwanda, my family and on my own behalf, I wish you and your loved ones a happy and prosperous new year 2016.

The end of year, is always an important time for reflection and introspection as we take stock of our achievements and challenges with a view to setting ourselves new targets. A new beginning also brings with it fresh aspirations and resolves to improve upon past performance.

In this regard, the RDF can look back on the past year with a sense of pride for numerous achievements made amidst diverse challenges. You should be encouraged by the steady progress registered during the course of the year 2015.  In particular, your contribution to the safeguarding of territorial integrity, as well as internal and international peace and security should provide you professional satisfaction.

I wish to commend you all for the continued professionalism, vigilance, integrity, and dedication that have enabled us to maintain the precious peace and safety that all Rwandans, foreign residents and guests have continued to enjoy in our country. I fully expect that you will maintain these positive attributes through 2016 as you discharge your duties with honour, loyalty and diligence. Always remember that your core duty is to preserve the vital safety and security environment within which further socio-economic development can take place for the benefit of Rwanda’s present and future generations.

As we celebrate the beginning of a new year, let us all spare a thought for our comrades who paid the ultimate price in the line of duty, so that the rest of our citizens and mankind may live in peace.  We honour their memory, we salute their sacrifice, and we pledge continued support to the families left behind; may you all, their living comrades find the strength and resilience to continue with their and your mission.

As always, this new year comes with new challenges and opportunities. We will definitely be confronted with more threats which require conventional and unconventional approaches to overcome them. We therefore need to remain focused and resilient to defend our nation. There is no doubt that working together we shall raise the Rwandan flag higher as we stay the course, on Rwanda’s journey of transformation.

May God Bless You All.

  1. Now, since when did President Paul Kagame change his words?  he is sending New Year messages to the Rwandan defence forces?
  2. He was able to read the power point slides during new year’s message to the nation, without insulting anyone?  where he accepted to rule for another three terms, in a humble manner?
  3. Also in his new year message he mentioned that he was ready to work with his critics?  the critics he is still hunting but ready to speak with at the same time?
  4. For the first time Kagame has not verbally insulted the opposition or the west since his referendum witticism.
