When the news broke earlier about Colonel Byabagamba’s alledged prison break attempt I like many Rwandans thought: ” Himbara must have written something that upset the boss again!”

Lately, Dr. David Himbara ‘s pen has been merciless with General Kagame’s Regime. He pointed the finger at Mr. Kagame’s catastrophically collapsing economy, he ridiculed the good General ‘s ” fantasy of ending foreign aid”, he rolled his eyes at his double standards when it comes to the taxes he exempts himself from paying and he even poked at the boss’s baby ” crystal ventures” and waved the specter of COVID19 on his household …

We were able to speak to two high ranking officials currently serving in RDF regarding this matter and here is what they had to say about it :

“…let me put it this way for you, Colonel Byabagamba attempting to escape military prison is very very unlikely.”

“…and he would attempt to escape to go where? …through where? Borders are closed! He has been a model prisoner of few words. He is guilty of being his brother’s brother. “

It seems there are strange things happening in the military institution in Rwanda recently, soldiers repeatedly terrorizing civilians unpunished, preposterous fabricated charges…Is this a forewarning of that impending change of guards or is Colonel Byabagamba being groomed for that misfortune that befalls those who fall out of Afande’s grace?
