Addressing media at his countryside side, Rwakitura on Sunday, Museveni also warned opposition to desist from chaos.

“I will wipe out the opposition completely in the next 5 years. NRM is going to be stronger,” Museveni said.

He said opposition Members of Parliament are useless and do not raise issues affecting people in their constituencies.

On peace, Museveni noted; “I told you before the election that no one will disturb the peace of Uganda. We shall use both soft and hard means to protect the peace of Uganda. The means they may not be lethal but they will be tough.”

Museveni said Besigye will not be allowed to disturb our peace. “The other day he invaded a police house.”

He argued that shutting down social media on the Election Day was a measure to get rid of chaos.

“That was a security measure to get rid of anarchy. We can’t have anyone promote chaos using social media. You should know that the state can even do more. I know some people use satellite phones but those can also be controlled,” Museveni said.

Museveni also claimed that close to 5percent of the invalid votes belonged to him. He blamed technology for the loss.

He attacked observers who claimed that elections were not free and fair.

The European Union Election Observation Mission said the electoral commission lacks independence and transparency.

“I don’t need lectures from anybody on how to organize elections. I’ve been doing it since Ntare.”
