Inyenyeri Newsgroup deplores the continued harassment campaign waged against Dr. Christopher Kayumba by the Rwandan National Police.

Dr. Christopher Kayumba has quickly subjected a kangaroo court and sentenced to 30 days after the police manhandled him and threw him in jail earlier this month over comments pointing out the brutish bullying the Rwandan Police exercise on who they will in all impunity.

Dr. Christopher Kayumba was not sent to jail for being “tipsy” in public, rather Mr. Kagame’s goons were angered by what he posted in reaction to their mistreatment of his person on Twitter :

“As long as everywhere the solution is the gun, #Rwandans will always fight! Sad!”

“Police using guns! & keeing you as long as it wants! This coercive power will NEVER bring sustainable power. Beating people or threatening them doesnt yield confidence! Beat!”

It is not the first time Dr. Christopher Kayumba finds himself in the crosshairs of the Rwandan Police; a free thinker, lecturer dedicated to unbiased journalism ( – visit his website chronicles.rw ), he faces constant bullying ( recently his website was also attacked) for his stand against Rwandan Police’s arbitrary arrests, extrajudicial killings of innocent citizens, killing of refugees ( Kiziba Camp ) and for the lack of freedom to demonstrate among other things.

Mr. Kagame and his goons continue to strangle freedom of speech and harass, bully and jail anyone who dares practice it in Rwanda.
