Independent presidential candidate John Patrick Amama Mbaabzi has said intimidation of his supporters by the ruling party is a waste of time.

Addressing press conference at White Horse Inn in Kabale yesterday, the former prime minister said that the desire for change cannot be resisted.

“Intimidation of my supporters is a waste of time. The sentiment for change is raining down and cannot be stopped,” he said.

Addressing a rally in Kabale on Friday, Mbabazi sent a warning to deputy RDC of Kabale, Denis Nzairwe, whom, he said, had worked with police to frighten his supporters in a bid to stop them from coming to attend his rallies.

He told his supporters to take the photos of those who intimidate them so that his lawyers can “take action with evidence.”

On Kenya’s deputy Prime Minister campaigning for president Museveni earlier this week, Mbabazi said it would be okay for Ruto to address issues that concern the nation but not joining partisan debates.

“It is okay for him [Ruto] to address issues of concern to the nation but to join a partisan debate, I think, that’s wrong,” he said, adding “If he [Ruto] had talked to all candidates and made his own impression before campaigning, then we’d be fine.”
