UN 73rd General Debate : Paul Kagame
I have got to give it to Kagame , he has come a long way with regards to public speaking . I wonder how long it took him to cram this speech… I was surprised by his audacious rendition; he must have practiced it very seriously! Although I am certain he is not familiar with most of the words this address was embellished with , and even though he is still intellectually far from the IVY League substance of the issues he was attempting to dissert , he deserves some credit for the vocal rhythm .
We would have appreciated hearing Mr Kagame speak candidly about the current issues in Rwanda in stead of hiding behind his chairmanship of the African Union and praising the efforts of peace in the horn of Africa when the only peace he practices at home is tyranny and ruthless repression.
-Mr Kagame, the management of the tremendous potential as you call it , goes hand in hand with democracy!
When Kagame speaks of forward looking and assures the UN assembly that political transitions are being handled in a peaceful manner with reduced external mediation ,I wonder if the assembly he is lying to is aware of the serious problems that remain “unresolved” in his own country and that the “so much potential” he could settle those with is behind bars and or in safe houses all over Kigali!
