The former Justice Minister of Justice Hon. Tharcisse Karugarama has been on the front line to save Kagame and his officials of crimes against humanity in courts abroad and on the international political plane.  Indeed, together with the Foreign Affairs Minister Louise Mushikiwabo have been very instrumental in defending the RPF regime even in indefensible circumstances.  Despite his hard work and sleepless nights travelling abroad, one of the government’s sponsored online newspapers IGIHE.COM, said that Karugarama was sacked because of his misconduct and building a crony around him.  It is a well established custom that when a Minister is sacked or any other government official, the office of the President will try to tarnish the name of the public officer who has been sacked as a way of intimidating him or call it a warning that if you disagree with them politically they will have to use all the weapons of mass destruction to terminate you.

Karugarama

This weapon of mass destruction was used against the former president Pasteur Bizimungu, Charles Ntakirutinka, Celestin Rwigema, who was the former Prime Minister, Gen. Kayumba Nyamwasa, Dr. Theogene Rudasingwa, Gerald Gahima, Patrick Karegeya all this group was called worthless (IBIGARASHA). The former Ambassador to South Africa Kamali Karegesa suffered the same fate, when the Kagame regime said that he was indiscipline, but it came to light that this man was innocent, that it was only the internal intrigue within RPF and the dictatorship attitude of Kagame that led to the down fall of this Ambassador.

When I was a young lady where we grew in the exile, we had a plantation of sugar canes and any time we went to harvest sugar canes we could enjoy some without the notice of our parents and we could eat as much as we could, throw out the residual, but sometimes we could even throw out a residual which is still sweet and unused cane optimumly because of greed and wastefulness.   Kagame will always get a cause to exterminate a person, he/she does not want any more. For instance Karugarama is accused of working for a non-state actor, this a story that was published in the IGIHE.COM, they don’t even inform the reader what are those non-state actors, definitely those are the Kagame demagogues that his machinery is creating so that Karugarama does not only leave  the political stage but  also leaves  it quietly.

Another issue raised in the IGIHE.COM, is nepotism, does Karugarama have a member of his family or relative in the Ministry of Justice? Definitely not, but others have ordered an increment of salaries in the Law Reform Commission were their relatives work. This is a double standard that RPF has not only nurtured but has been breastfed for so long.  It is a well established fact that a Minister and Permanent Secretary are always at war, not because they want to be, but the RPF tactic of divide and rule, makes these two organs fight for supremacy. Karugarama has been very instrumental in telling the President that the third term project should be dropped in the interests of the country and RPF, however, as usual the bad player of the RPF is the person who tells the clique the truth, this clique among others, include James Musoni who has been termed the King Maker within the RPF circles.

Where does all this take the RPF Party?

When Gen. Kayumba Nyamwasa left the country he said that when the Kagame regime is no longer seeing interests in a person, they will do everything possible to bring him down, “it is my turn that I’m brought down”, he said. This is the story of the sugar cane I was talking about earlier  that every RPF official who becomes a residual is discarded in the bin and sometimes will be stained so much so that, no single washing powder  could remove the stain from him/her.  The RPF machinery will call you a thief, an opportunist, a terrorist or other names that will prevent you to oppose the regime. The regime lives in fear and panic, yet claiming of success story in the local and international media, using a lot of money and lobbying hand of both international and domestic lobbyists. These include the Andrew Mwenda who was well known for his skills in journalism but has now gone in the bed with the regime of Kigali. Another powerful lobbyist group includes the former British Prime Minister Tony Blair who has not only lobbied for the Rwandan Dictator but also defended his regime against crimes committed against humanity.

Kagame is and has been arguing that RPF is like a grass thatched house where one grass cannot make the house leak, this not a true analogy since the English adage is that “one by one makes a bundle” this means that if one grass gets off today, the following day another one goes eventually the house starts to leak and consequently the walls of the house become weak and it will collapse. Indeed, the RPF house is slowly but surely leaking in the same way MRND started to leak and eventually collapsed. RPF should emulate his counterparts in the region who have allowed the fundamental freedoms to flourish, freedom of assembly and other basic fundamental human rights respected. Therefore Kagame and RPF should stop eating themselves like cancer, lest they will go in the same dust bin of history like their predecessors.
