Even though Kagame and his regime bank and are still holding on to Rwanda s geopolitical importance, history has shown again and again that a dictator who looses internal control is unlikely to be saved by external allies.
The west will not stand in the way of democratic change, even when it does not provide practical support for it.
Given Kagame’s self isolating decisions, the internal explosion cannot be contained or avoided.
It is just a matter of time.
Every step he takes to silence and stabilize backfires.
Kagame manipulates numbers to lie about rapid growth to hide his authoritarianism but Rwandans know very well that just like in Ben Ali ‘s Tunisia, his family, relatives and connected friends run the show and nothing is happening for the people other than the usual mass unemployment, land crisis and hunger.
Kagame has successfully instilled fear and insecurity among the tutsi Elite, just like Habyarimana had with the Hutu( the Kiga in particular ).
They are now convinced that his downfall would mean doom and severe retribution against them and their interests.
However, Militant, even Kagame ‘s elite of generals and business associates cannot stand in the way of the coming revolution because the power of the people is stronger than the people in power and no one will manage to stop us when we take to the streets and show him that we are the masters of our own destiny.
