Rwanda Deploys troops on its Border with Ugandan
Breaking news
After President Kagame’s immediate return from Uganda where he spent his Christmas holidays with his family and President Museveni’s, it has been reported that he has deployed troops along the Uganda- Rwanda border areas.
It has been reported that more than two Brigades of RDF troops have been deployed and dug –in in preparation for combat in the border areas that stretch from Gatuna to Kagitumba.
Hundreds of Rwandan soldiers have been seen patrolling alongside the boarder but still on Rwandan side while Uganda has still kept this in as low a profile as possible but well aware of this situation. Sources from the civilian population along both sides of the countries indicate a lot of worries, and insecurity. One resident who did not want his name to be revealed due to the tense situation stated that it is worrying because he has seen Rwandan soldiers with heavy weaponry which to him indicated an imminent war.
It is not the first time for Rwanda to threaten attacking Uganda the country that made Kagame who he is today. The last remembered deployment by the Rwandan side was in june 2010 when Kagame immersed troops along the same border but nothing serious happened.
Both Presidents enjoyed Christmas together in Rwakitura President Museven’s country home while President Kagame later continued to Mweya Safari Lodge with his family where he left abruptly after he lost his unidentified personal documents.
Ugandan side remains adamant on any reaction in regards to the army deployments surrounding their border.
