Retraction of information published on 1-7-2013 concerning military arrest in Rwanda
Yesterday I reported that Director General of the National Security Service in Rwanda, Emmanuel Karenzi Karake had been detained in conjunction with the death of Col. Patrick Karegeya. I have since learned that my source was misinformed and I am retracting that statement at this time from that article.
I formally apologize to Mr. Karenzi Karake for falsely reporting his arrest.
In 2010, this same person was arrested for immoral conduct and there were many who denied his arrest at that time as well. President Kagame himself confirmed Karenzi Karake had indeed been arrested. Things change quickly in Rwanda.
Many reports and speculation have been written about arrests in this case and as many reports are being refuted. I apologize to my readers who rely on me for accurate reporting. I will be sure to make a stronger effort to confirm information coming to me from Rwanda in order to bring out accurate information.
My apologies for the error in my reporting and to Mr. Karenzi Karake.
This is more like it. Proffetionalism matters. Now make correction for Gakwerere as well since you that he is not detained in maputo
He will be detained in due course. Even if he is innocent in this instance, he should be detained to prevent him from committing future crimes like the hapless character in The Government Inspector.

Mozambican authorities have denied reports that they arrested Rwandans suspected of killing former Rwandan spy chief Patrick Karegeya, according to a report.
The Star reported on Thursday that Mozambique national police spokesman Pedro Cossa “categorically” denied any knowledge of the detention of Lt-Col Francis Gakwere, the paper reported.
Two or three other people were reportedly arrested along with Gakwere.
Karegeya, 53, had been living in exile in South Africa for a number of years. He was found dead in a room at the Michelangelo Towers Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg, last Wednesday.
On Wednesday, The New Age reported that private investigator Chad Thomas had told the paper that Gakwere was among those arrested in Maputo, for the murder.
“Gakwere was also a prime suspect in the failed hit on General Kayumba Nyamwasa in 2010 but there was insufficient evidence to allow the charges to stick,” Thomas was quoted as saying.
Mozambique’s Deputy Justice Minister Alberto Nkutumula told The Star he knew nothing about any arrests of Rwandans.
Karegeya’s nephew David Batenga said he last saw his uncle with a close family friend Apollo Kiririsi at the hotel.
OH..GOD..HAVE MERCY!!
