INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE GEN. KALE KAYIHURA

In the shakeup, the IGP replaced Joel Aguma who was the commandant of the Police Standards Unit (PSU) with Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Good Mwesigwa.

Aguma together with other senior police officers were late October this year arrested by the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) and later charged by the court martial which remanded them to Luzira and Kigo prisons on different charges including illegal repatriation of Rwandan refugees.

According to the gazette released Friday by Kayihura β€” Mwesigwa, β€œIn his new capacity, he will continue with auditing of firearms as earlier directed.”

Other officers transferred are Commissioner of Police Fenny Kyomukama who was transferred from Anti-stock Theft Unit (ASTU) to commissioner in charge of Classified Stores.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Cohen Arinaitwe was also transferred from National Operations Centre to ASTU.

The changes have created vacuum at National Operation Centre which the IGP left to the assistant Inspector Generals of Police to propose a replacement.
