As we  bid farewell to 2018  and welcome 2019 ,tensions in the great lakes region are  higher than ever . War is on almost every tongue. War in Burundi , war on Rwanda , chaos in Congo , People Power in Uganda…

The Two East African giants , Tanzania and Kenya are  worriedly looking at the unfolding dramatic outcomes in all four entangled  intrigues.

We have been  very vocal about the cruelty and  impunity of the RPF regime ; we have exposed its murderous and thieving  nature etc…This year , I personally hope that those of us who oppose General Kagame and his one Party state tyranny can put more emphasis in  intellectualizing our stand against the absurdity of his Dictatorship.

We have  blown the whistle on it  for years and we should continue to do so , but it is  time to engage it ideologically.

Kagame and his RPF have trapped us into their “ attack -react “  game for so long that it has become like a second nature even among ourselves .

Strategic differences between individuals  have become personal and they stand in the way of the debates that will liberate our country.

This  needs to change .

We  need to engage in more debates  among ourselves about the change we need  and how it can be brought about ideologically without taking personal issue . We must attain political maturity  because we have dangerously come to favoring the idea of another war , another armed conflict to bring about change.

This war  is very likely to happen. All the protagonists seem to be ready .

War  to chase away a dictator who is illegally in  the presidential seat , having ousted the previous dictator by another war .This a vicious circle we should put an end to.

Compromise is something we should reflect on this year  because lasting peace is built on compromise as is true reconciliation.

Happy New Year to all.
