Americans have already zeroed in on Kagame’s potential replacements and he knows it.
Kagame’s popularity with the American Democratic party is biting the dust as Lantos Foundation and its affiliates continue to shed light on the tragic fate of Paul Rusesabagina: a man who remains a hero in the general public psyche thanks to Hollywood’s Hotel Rwanda.
Americans have a hard time associating Rusesabagina with terrorism. It is easier to believe in Paul Kagame’s dictatorial rap sheet. After all it does come with irrefutable murderous and outrageous imprisonments proof. Charles lngabire, Assiel Kabera, Karegeya, Rwigara, Kizito, Joel Mutabazi, Byabagamba. The list is embarrassingly long. And there is the disappearances. One only needs a five minute conversation with notorious opposition figure Victoire Ingabire about dissapearances, extra judicial killings and oppressive smear campaigns to have a inkling into the rule of law in Rwanda.
Per this letter by New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez, the American public is slowly but surely being nudged into forgiving Rusesabagina who is portrayed by his very expensive defense team as having embraced the violence option against a dictatorial and predatory Paul Kagame out of desperation .
