When the RPF was inaugurated in Kampala in 1987, many Rwandans at the time who had been denied the right of nationality by the then government in Kigali had a thigh of relief, we cerebrated and people started to design the way forward. One of the eight point program was to end a system which generates refugees, little did we know that, intrigue, hypocrisy and betrayal will cause the immediate failure of the first invasion of the RPF to the Habyarimana regime.

It is argued that some members of the RPF had opposed the use of force to the Habyarimana regime suggesting that, a peaceful settlement could be achieved and the refugees could be allowed to return without bloodshed.  However, the majority including the then Vice –President of RPF Patrick Mazimpaka stressed that Habyarimana will never allow refuges to return voluntarily. “There would never be a political settlement, we were in no doubt of that, and we knew that the repression of the Kigali regime could only get worse”.

Likewise within Rwanda , things were falling apart, the brother of our former President Pasteur Bizimungu was murdered by the Habyarimana regime and Bizimungu ‘s immediate sanctuary was RPF, his mind and soul led his body into the RPF establishment, little did he know , that he was running from a flying pan to fire. I will not go in all the details of our history and all the turbulence that has characterized our politics in this article due to limited time and of course I don’t want the readers of the untold stories to get bored with long articles but I will keep bringing out some elements of importance in the due course.

In the package of the eight point program, also included were, democracy for Rwanda, a self-sustaining economy, and end to the misuse of public services, democratization of the security services, and a progressive foreign policy. How far have the RPF moved in the above direction? When you put this question to the RPF sympathizers definitely will tell you that, almost the journey is at the destination. However, the majority Rwandans will tell you if at all they can (those inside Rwanda), that even the little or all achievements boasted by the RPF, all sides of the coin supporters incisive will agree that sustainability of these achievements is cloudy.

Why non supporters and supporters when it comes to the sustainability of the achievements all vote in affirmative?

As I mentioned above, what is destroying RPF is intrigue, greed, disrespect, cheap politicking. The first line up of the RPF is either politically decapitated or physically exterminated and those who might be still serving are either crippled or muzzled.

When I asked some of the historical of RPF, if they still know some of the founders, he laughed his head off. I asked him a man once respected in the RPF establishment STEVEN Ndugute Kalisoso, here he almost fainted, this man is long forgotten, his former house was sold to an investor and his family is wandering in the wild. What about SAM Kanyemera Kaka, recently promoted to a Major General but without portfolio, Look at the whole list of the former RPF political establishment, Patrick Mazimpaka, Pasteur Bizimungu, Alex Kanyarengwe, Jack Bihozagra, just to mention a few? Where are they? Let me now touch the Military establishment sometimes called I BIGARASHA, Gen. Kayumba,  Col.Wllison Rutayisire(Shaban) Col.William Bagire, Capt. Frank Tega, Maj. Alfonse Furuma, Maj. Alex Ruzindana,  Col. Kizza the list is endless, some have disappeared, killed or in exile.

Does this makes the Kigali regime remorse or threatened?

Obviously, hardliners will tell you that, a thatched house will not leak because a few grasses have fallen off, however, if they keep falling off one by one, eventually the house will leak. For those who don’t know how thatched houses leak because in Rwanda there are no more thatched houses (Nyakatsi), I will tell you that some signs of leaking can be seen on the streets of Kigali and elsewhere in Rwanda.  I was recently chatting with European who had just had his holiday in Rwanda; he asked me why on the streets of Rwanda they are many soldiers patrolling the streets as if Rwanda is at war? My answer could be a guess of any one reading my article.

Indeed, on one of the on line News Papers, the Umuvugizi, they run an article that President Kagame and his killer machine, ambushed the Catholic Church by implanting Eva (a woman) in one of the Kigali Lodges to lead the man of God to temptation, I will not stamp on this article in approval, but for those who know very well the character of PK, will certainly leave no doubt that the man can use all the weapons of mass destruction to his enemies.

When the Bishops of Rwanda sought sanctuary in Gitarama, they   were murdered in the cold blood and although amateurish trials were made, those convicted remain at large and enjoying freedom.

Again, in the same article, Kabila is being infiltrated by the PK intelligence machine of Jack Nziza and Kabarebe, this comes at the time when the Kigali regime is denying any   involvement in the current conflict of Congo.

This is not a surprise for those who witnessed the 1996 and 1998, on both occasions the Government of Rwandan denied the invasion until it was exposed and latter admitted the invasion, but gave an excuse of flushing out the FDLR and Interahamwe Militia.

It is therefore not surprising that, many political analysts have consistently argued that, RPF has not achieved the political goals that led it to the war, neither what has been achieved is sustainable.

Rwanda is experiencing the highest refugee exodus in the Rwandan History, both groups irrespective of the so called ethnicity which characterized the Rwandan Politics, but what is worrying most is the running to exile by the former comrades and allies of Kagame. Some people don’t seem to be bothered, but  like it or not, today or tomorrow, if the trend of frustration of  the former comrades of RPF and those who are here but muzzled just burning inside is not checked,  the peace which some people think is peace, is short lived.

I wish I could talk to all the stake holders in the Rwandan political atmosphere, to look to the path of peace so that the future of Rwandan children and grand children could be brought up in an environment where the loin cubs will live side by side in peace and harmony with a lamb.
