UN Choppers Bomb ADF Rebels In DRC By: Brian Kwesiga
The Congolese government forces backed by the UN intervention brigade helicopters have taken over Kamango town from the Ugandan rebel group Allied Democratic Forces-ADF.
Drones like these will be used in the eastern DRC.
According to AFP news agency, the Congolese government backed by the UN brigade helicopter launched an offensive attack on ADF bases in Kamango town on Christmas.
A senior officer under the UN Mission in Congo-MUNUSCO told the AFP news agency on condition of anonymity that the Congolese army asked for support from the South African helicopters deployed under the UN brigade to recapture Kamango from the Ugandan rebels.
Lieutenant Colonel Olivier Hamuli, a FARDC army spokesperson in North-Kivu province is quoted to have said that they have already taken back Kamango.
