Just in the ongoing indoor meeting commonly known as Umwiherero though not privacy as the Kinyarwanda word depicts its meaning, the Rwandan Head of State reckless, indifferently or deliberately said that Rwandans should tell the truth of what happened in Rwanda if the true reconciliation is to be achieved.

“Ntabwo twabaho mu buzima bw’ikinyoma kuko bigera aho bikakwica-Perezida Kagame”

Literally meaning that you cannot live on falsehood for life, it comes a time if you don’t tell the truth you die. This is exactly what his political opponents have been saying since RPF captured power in 1994. It is interesting that president Kagame is repeating the same words of Deo Mushayidi and Ingabire Victoire who said that both sides of the Rwandan society lost their loved ones. The only difference which the president   differs from the Deo Mushayidi and Ingabire victoire respectively is the way these people were killed and who killed them.

The president in contrast did not tell the truth as he proclaims and portrays himself as a saint. Unfortunately none of the people in the so called umwiherero has the guts to question the president about the number of people who were butchered by his own forces and on his own orders.  Can the president be brave enough and tell the Rwandans who killed  the  Four(4) Bishops including the Arch-Bishop of Kigali Diocese who were killed in the cold blood not because they had committed any crime but because they were what they were.

How do you call this massacre?  If they were killed by his own soldiers but not on his orders why were they not given decent burial they deserve not as Bishops but rather as human beings. Why their relatives are not allowed to remember them? Or why the Catholic Church has kept quite all this time? The answer is simple; Kagame ordered the massacre of these men of God and is now preaching the gospel he does not believe in.

Kagame used his own courts to convict Ingabire on the account of genocide ideology simply because she asked the wisdom of remembering one group of people when in fact all Rwandans lost their loved ones in one way or the other. Deo Mushayid asked why the Constitution changed the words Genocide and Massacre ( itsemba bwoko ni Itsembatsemba) this is the original version of our laws on the genocide in Rwanda.   While the government has doctored its policies depending on each stage of winning elections, it does not want anybody to question them why and how they serve Rwandans.

If we apply the same law as the Constitution of Rwanda says, that no person is above the law, Article 16 all human beings are equal before the law, they shall enjoy, without discrimination equal protection of the law. The president emphasized the old contentious and sensitive composition of the Rwandan society. He said that no one should be shy of what he is, if you were born short or tall, you should accept it.

”Perezida Kagame yagarutse cyane ku kwemera uko umuntu ateye n’uko yisanze kuko ntawahisemo uko yavutse, ati “Ntawabaye Umunyarwanda kuko ari byo yahisemo. Turi abo turi bo, ntabwo twabanje guhitamo. Iyo utahisemo rero urabanza ukabyemera. Iyo uvutse ugakura ugasanga uri muremure urabyemera ntabwo utangira gutekereza kuba mugufi ngo ugabanye amaguru. Iyo uri mugufi uba uri mugufi urabyemera, ahubwo wamara kubyemera ukibaza uti ‘naba nte umuntu muzima’ ugakora uburyo bwose ukoresha uko umeze ngo ubigeze kure.”

Whereas the President was metaphorical in his message, the Rwandan society knows very well what he meant, is he different from what Ingabire was saying? Why is she now serving a fabricated and concocted case? Will the Minister of Justice start to prepare for the amendment of the current law on genocide? Or alternatively the Prosecution Authority should indict the president on the genocide ideology.

Why is the President making a U-turn now? A Man who was once the champion of the project that the Rwandan society was divided on the social classes rather than their physical descriptions. Has the president now discovered that the colonial masters were correct? Why all along the RPF policy was that the colonial masters were wrong? If they were wrong and playing politics, is he also falling in their footsteps playing politics of divide and rule? If the president is correct then is he going to introduce the National Identity with the ethnicity has his predecessors had done?  What yardstick will he use to know the ethnic groupings as the president is trying to convince his members of the cabinet?

In fact Rwanda is at the cross roads and in total dilemma , Kagame is trying to  change the Constitution as Article 193 stipulates that  if the amendment requires to change the terms  of the president of the Republic, then a referendum is required. Indeed, the architects of this project Ndi Umunyarwanda have already instigated fear; some people were labeled killers with even their unborn children (icyaha cya Kaini). These people live in the state of fear, this implies that the Bamporiki, Rucagu and the Prime Minister will spearhead the project and people will vote in the referendum in affirmative. Like other African dictators Kagame is there to stay.
