Museveni’s decision to meet Kasirye was on the background that this Brigadier just like Tinyefuza had made some controversial statements in the local media.

At the end of Museveni- Kasirye meeting, one important thing happened. Police in collaboration with other security agencies rushed to Sembabule District to reportedly disarm a group of cattle keepers that were said to have been armed by Tinyefuza to protect their cattle. The operation was carried out in the wee hours of the morning and some success was achieved.

The other scheme in the President’s grand plan to weaken the impact of Tinyefuza has a bearing to the recent promotions of some UPDF officers to the rank of Generals. Among the beneficiaries are Gen. Kale Kayihura and Katumba Wamala. This has brought the number of the UPDF full Generals to Nine. The President did this in order to have a variety of Generals to choose from when time comes to constitute a special court martial to try Tinyefuza.

In the same arrangement, Museveni has since directed Tinyefuza’s deputy Brig. Sam Wasswa Balikalegge to take over as acting Coordinator of Security agencies.
