After hypocritically mobilizing the wanainchi into flocking the streets to give the Mzee a reassuring welcome back to Rwanda, this unsettling headline about a fomented UPDF coup is a cold stab in the back- even by Rwandan standards!

This incendiary rumor mongered into a juicy story and passed on to Taarifa’s sensationalist editorship like a hot cake is a product of pure vindictiveness.

President Kagame has taken on the mantle of CHOGM’s chair in office and, as such, his hands are tied with regards to the cards he would normally play to navigate the region.

But…Taarifa’s “source” for this cooked up story is on to something. Eventhough we are all aware that a ripe melon falls by itself, there is a dark coup cloud hovering over East Africa since the appointment of Uhuru KENYATTA over the mineral debacle in the DRC. The regimes in Rwanda and Uganda may now have to compete for survival.

Having been accused of stealing from Congo and rebuilding itself on its chaotic mineral situation, Rwanda now seeks to become the Switzerland of the African great lakes with regards to the same.

A new season of covert hostilities between Rwanda and Uganda has begun. Rwanda’s strategists have fired the first shot at Mzee Museveni and moving forward, he would probably do good to sleep with both eyes open particularly with regards to the infamous Muhoozi Project.
