Kagame’s unconventional methods call for unconventional rejoinders from his frustrated peers. It is thus that we now hear of High Commissioner appointments through other High Commissioners! It had not been heard of before that a High Commissioner informs the general public of a counterpart’s “approved” appointment in an interview with a regional news outlet! Traditionally news of such appointments would break in pictures through the the PR teams of the Foreign Secretary and the Commissioned, and on Twitter. After Omar Daair ( British High Commissioner to Rwanda )’s interview that you can read here : https://www.theeastafrican.co.ke/tea/news/east-africa/uk-approves-rwandan-envoy-ahead-of-commonwealth-meet-3753064

All eyes are on Johnston Busingye’s Twitter page for an update on his situation.

So far nothing about his “approved” appointment

Johnson Busingye’s “approval” had been pending for some time. After the Rusesabagina episode and Businye’s blunder- admission on AlJazeera, Rwanda was given a very British cold shoulder. But the show must go on, CHOGM-Kigali is a mere three months away and perhaps the British will follow through with soft power during the said CHOGM… For now, Kagame wins. Again.
