This announcement was followed by a memo by UN Country Coordinator ( Mr. Fodé Ndiaye) to all UN agencies. Mr. Fode Ndiaye also recommended decontamination measures regarding the building where the patient in question had been working. This was interpreted by some as the force of hand that compelled the Government of Rwanda to come clean about the situation on March 13th.

However, the government of Rwanda deserves credit for the subsequent measures taken; should they be implemented as outlined, many lives will be saved.

The Corona Virus pandemic is a matter of serious concern globally.

As of today, 24 four African countries are affected.

There is no known cure to the virus- yet. All that is known of this Virus is that it is highly contagious. The WHO has encouraged and insisted that strict hygiene be maintained to protect from infection and transmission: frequent handwashing is the main recommendation.

Symptoms of concern are fever, cough, shortness of breath, tiredness, runny nose or congestion.
