BRICS: A new era for Africa and the World
As we all come to terms with the reality of a DRC under the unpredicted presidency of Felix Tshisekedi , “ alternance “ echoes in almost all analyses of this post 2018 elections DRC.
Faithful to the now famous “African Elections” drama plot , Mr Tshisekedi’s victory will be contested in court after dreaded violent protests but it will come as no surprise , as we have seen it happen recently in Kenya , Zimbabwe etc if Mr Fayulu’ s Lamuka coalition finds it difficult to overrule the results proclaimed by the CENI even with the help of the 40 000 witnesses of the Catholic Church.
Analysts have said that Tshisekedi’s victory comes as a posthumous award to his father, the long time opposition leader Etienne Tshisekedi but I believe there is more to this surprising victory.
In deed it seems that “ alternance “ is the new state of play promoted by the emerging new world order. Regime changes had always been supported by western blocks competing against each other for regional influence and economic interests ; this election is a clear indication to the West that BRICS ( association of five major emerging national economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) is a force to be reckoned with .
Mr Martin Fayulu has been perceived as the candidate of the European Union and the fact that the SADC and the African Union have accepted the victory of Mr Tshisekedi is a clear indication as to who the new invisible influence behind political and and economic agendas is going to be in the African Great Lakes Region over the next couple of decades .
A new era is upon Africa and the world .
