Museveni Writes to President Kagame
President Yoweri Museveni yesterday sent what was termed as a special message to his Rwandan counterpartPaul Kagame.
The message was delivered by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sam Kutesa, who met the Rwandan President the capital Kigali yesterday.
This comes amid continued concerns about growing tension between the two countries.
During President Kagame’s state visit to Museveni at State House in Entebbe in March, the two leaders downplayed the reports about the fading relations between the neighboring countries.
Mr. Kutesa had earlier met with Dr Richard Sezibera and congratulated him upon his recent appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and East African Community. They discussed issues of bilateral interest and pledged to work closely to broaden and deepen cooperation between Uganda and Rwanda.
Dr. Sezibera replaces Ms Louise Mushikiwabo, who was on 12 October 2018 unanimously elected by the Heads of State and Government of the Oraganisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) member countries as the next OIF Secretary General.
