Me Donat Mutunzi was MURDERED .The Rwandan Police is outrageously perjuring itself when it  calls this cold blooded murder a suicide .

This only succeeds in adding insult to injury to Me Donat Mutunzi’s family and  friends and to Rwandans in general .

And it is something we have seen Paul Kagame’s barbarous and blood thirsty regime  do over and over again.

In the beginning , when we started letting this happen , Paul Kagame and his governing style were the only option to the chaos we were in  up to our knees. We knew he was bad news , but we needed order. We thought enlightened politicians would eventually come along and take over.

And they did.

But he silenced them one after the other  with death , unjust imprisonment and exile.

Kagame ( although not single handedly) created the chaos  he constantly boasts to have resolved.

He then hijacked the RPF and  subsequently the entire governing  institutions of our country that he  has turned into the sort of police state that has given a new meaning to repression.

 

The first response to repression is usually fear and fear leads to either acceptance and desistance from reaction  or resistance and organisation for action.

In Rwanda  people had largely opted for silence.

And for a long time the brutality of Kagame’s regime has forced them to look the other way when their loved ones were disappeared or murdered.

The murder of Me Donat Mutunzi , a man  of law whose integrity the police thugs  did not even shy away from tarnishing after they murdered him by claiming that he had been in their custody  on suspicion of a lascivious crime, has changed the tide. These bandits in police disguise cannot explain why they did not  take him to court for it in the week they had him illegally detained and tortured.

Kagame had almost managed to  make us overlook the can of worms of enduring lies he is  constantly trying to keep sealed and under control with that beautiful Royal Tour documentary .

 

As  the final scene  to his era unfolds , Me Donat Mutunzi’s martyrdom  will certainly not go unnoticed , its timing is very damaging no matter how much effort is put in the “damage control” of it .
