Gen. Tumukunde Travelled to South Korea before Aronda’s death—NRM Poor Youth
Rtd. Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde travelled to South Korea before the death of Internal Affairs Minister Gen. Aronda Nyakairima, a section of National Resistance Movement Poor Youth Forum has claimed.
Aronda died early September in Dubai aboard flight from South Korea.
The NRM Poor Youth national coordinator Kato Isa and founding member Shakur Walusimbi in a press statement yesterday tasked government to investigate circumstances surrounding the alleged travel.
“The NRM poor youth Forum and the poor youth community would like to request the above mentioned person Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde to explain his travel to South Korea,” the statement read in part.
They claimed that Tumukunde travelled to South Korea and later returned to Uganda, and then Nyakairima also followed the route.
“This is to therefore request the president of Uganda to institute a commission of inquiry to investigate the sudden death of our fallen hero Gen. Aronda Nyakairima. We also ask his Excellency to explain the purpose of Tumukunde’s travel to South Korea as the commander in chief.
The two said they are giving president, Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura and Tumukunde to explain or petition International Criminal Court to do investigations.
