Lagos INEC to begin collation of results by 12:30pm
Journalists are anxiously waiting at the Lagos State office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the collation of result of last Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections.
The elections, which could not be conducted in some areas due to logistics reasons was rescheduled for Sunday in 90 polling units in five of the 20 local government areas of the state.
The affected council areas were Alimosho, Eti- Osa, Kosofe, Oshodi-Isolo and Somolu.
Addressing journalists on Monday, the commission’s Head of Public Affairs, Femi Akinbiyi, said although some of the results are still bein expected, the collation will continue by 12:30pm.
According to him, only few results are still being expected and the commission believes that they will arrive before the end of the collation exercise.
“The collation will begin by 12:30pm. Not all results are here at the moment. We are still expecting few from some areas. We will begin by 12:30 and hopefully, we believe that the awaiting results will be brought in before the end of the exercise” he said.
