President Kagame:fear and panic pushes him to price of Rwandans
The Kagame’s Dialogue (Umushyikirano) has turned into a platform of attacking those he calls gods who want to be bowed by Kagame and Rwandans according the Rwandan head of state.“We have secured the right to be and nobody is going to take away this right. No one has the right to take away our right to live,” Does President Kagame really know that others have a right to live? A Right to freedom of speech? A right to freedom of assembly? What right is he talking about?
Paul Kagame
Unfortunately Kagame has forgotten that many of his colleagues that fought alongside him to stop genocide have been either sidelined, killed, went into exile or politically made impotent. Why has the president lost his memory when he recalls the RPF’s experience during the campaign against the Genocide two decades ago, he narrates when a UN official found him in Musha in the Rwamagana area and told him to halt the war.
“When we were fighting for our right to live, we were told to stop fighting; our response was that it is those who are killing people who should be told to stop,” Does really the president remember some of his commanders who selflessly sacrificed for the cause of Rwanda and now they have never seen the freedom they fought for.
The fallen comrades whose families cannot have even the basics, take their children school, their widows are living a miserable life. Does the President remember the family of Gen. Fred Rwigema? Col Steven Ndugete(Kalisoliso) where is Col. Biseruka and his family? Where is the family of Col. Lizinde, just to mention a few? Does any sober mind really take President Kagame seriously when they give him a standing ovation and applause? They only do so just to buy their survival.
President Kagame again attacked the BBC Documentary that exposed all his crimes and killings in both Rwanda and Congo, “We shall never apologize for standing up for our right. There are no better people than us in our own country for our affairs,” Kagame said partially in reference to a recent BBC documentary, according to him the BBC Documentary denies genocide, but does it really? The answer is NO, it only denies that Kagame shouldn’t call himself a saint because he has committed more crimes than those he claims were committed by his former enemies and who committed genocide..
President Kagame has now invented his own style of scaring those who demand accountability from him, he tells them that they will pay a heavy price or it will be very expensive! If he paid the price and sacrificed the Rwandans, does he think that they are no more Rwandans who are prepared to pay any price for the freedom of their country? They price of getting freedom is never cheap, and people will always be ready to pay it, he should therefore not think that people will be put off by just scaring them by “expensive price”.
Why should president Kagame think that he has the monopoly of deciding the right of Rwandans,? “Nobody should dictate to Rwandans what to be. There are those who say we give you our money so we must tell you what to do and what to be. There comes a time when you say, between my right and your money, you can have your money.”
Why then can’t he allow Rwandans to excise the Right to choose their own leaders? Who are those telling him what do? I think the president is so confused and scared, indeed, for those who followed his speech in the so called Dialogue are not surprised, because the RPF and Kagame in particular have run of out of ideas, they have run out of political cards, they have been using the card of genocide for many years.
The many Rwandans who lost their lives have been turned into political and economic survival by Kagame for his political gains. In fact the Rwandan Foreign Affairs Minister Mushikiwabo Louise said that the BBC Documentary constituted “a very serious attack on our country, our leaders, and on who we are.” This is what Kagame and his Lieutenants think that it constitutes genocide denial! It’s a shame, that for the Rwandan leaders, they don’t have a difference between the state and them, they think they own Rwanda as their own private property; we should tell them that they are mistaken.
The right of the Rwandans to live is a fundamental Right that is not given by Kagame or any other person, and if anybody interferes with it, the Rwandans have a right to resist him, Kagame therefore will not hold Rwandans for a ransom and he should not think that the price is talking about will scare Rwandans to demand their Rights and if necessary to resist those who deny them their fundamental freedoms.
