Kagame, Muntu plots Museveni’s fall
Rwanda, Uganda diplomatic relations are taking another twist as the
struggle for the kingship and control of the Greatlakes region
continues between Presidents Kagame and Museveni. News reaching us has
that Kagame sees Uganda and Museveni as an obstacle to his political
plans of controlling the region with the existence of his Ugandan
counterpart hence coming up with a mechanism to bring him down
swiftly.
Gen Mugisha Muntu
Gen Paul Kagame
Reliable source from Kigali have told us that Major General Mugisha
Muntu of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Party is the man whom
President Kagame want at state house Entebbe rather than Museveni.
There have been highly secretive meetings between Kagame and Muntu and
according to a highly placed source that attended a number of
concealed meetings tells us that the plot to bring President Museveni
down is in final stages.
“The idea behind this heinous action is the fear of contacts and
support which the opposition mainly the Rwanda National Congress (RNC)
has within Ugandan government including the presidency and how this
has developed to a likely base of any kind of attack to the RPF led
government”. Our source revealed.
Gen. Muntu and his close confidants have held meetings with top
military officials in Kigali and Kampala to hatch the plan that will
bring Museveni and NRM government to knees. “The last time Muntu
visited Kigali, he met President Kagame in a very secretive manner and
the meeting that started in the afternoon went on till early hours in
the morning”. Our source added.
We have also reliably learnt that Brig Gen. Jack Nziza, Musoni James
and John Ngarambe Rwanda’s First Secretary at the High Commission in
Kampala were tasked to facilitate these activities. We understand Gen.
Nziza convened a meeting last week which on its agenda was to speed up
this plot. It was argued that Rwandan opposition has gained momentum
and Kigali government is in a more isolated situation than before and
it was time to set up mechanisms that would enable Kagame’s stay in
power with little or no challenge.
Part of the plot is to facilitate and sponsor the mass protests to
force President Museveni out of office which is something were
witnessing across Africa with the recent people-power taking its
effect in Burkina Faso where President Blaise Compaore was forced to
resign and flee the country.
Another plan which has been talked of is the assassination which
Kagame has used on many occasions to eliminate his opponents and those
he perceives to mount any challenge on his government. A number of
assassination methods have been mentioned to bring down President
Museveni which would descend the whole country into turmoil in which
case Kagame will regain the Western and Superpower attention to
intervene and calm the situation which he will put forward Gen. Muntu
as the person to lead Uganda and Kagame will be in control of both
countries and the region.
A political analyst familiar with the regional security said he
wasn’t surprised of Kagame’s murderous plans. “Kagame will do
anything that would enable him have full control of Rwanda as a
personal property and if it means the downfall of another head of
state he will oust or kill without any remorse and I am sure Kagame
and his accomplice realise that Rwandans aren’t happy with the style
of governance where there are no rule of law, no checks and balance
and no accountability for the misuse of public resources mainly at top
level”. He observed.
Our sources say John Ngarambe and Lt.Col. James Burabyo in Kampala
have already held various meetings in Uganda with their agents, senior
army and police officers who will receive hefty advance payments to
bribe them not to take government orders of stopping the mass protests
nor oppose the take-over of Gen. Muntu as the President of Uganda.
