Angola: Uganda President Leaves for Kampala
Luanda — The Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni, left this morning Luanda, after attending the 2nd Mini-Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR), held on Thursday in the Angolan capital.
The summit counted on the presence of the Presidents of Angola, José Eduardo dos Santos, of DRC, Joseph Kabila, of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, and of South Africa, Jacob Zuma.
Rwanda and Tanzania were represented by cabinet officials of the respective countries.
The event analysed the situation prevailing in DR Congo (DRC) and Central African Republic (CAR).
The summit decided to give an ultimatum to FDLR forces to surrender until December this year.
At Luanda’s “4 de Fevereiro” International Airport, Yoweri Museveni, was bid farewell by the Angolan Oil minister, Botelho de Vasconcelos, other Angolan and Ugandan officials.
The organization is composed of twelve member states, namely: Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Republic of South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania and Zambia.
