Lt Col Sabitti Ndagije’s daughter Kayitesi Flavia died in a pub after being shot by a soldier who was drunk. who is Kayitesi Flavia? she was born in 1984 in Lwebitakuli Sembabule Uganda, mother Iraida worked in a pub in Katovu on the  Mbarara high way, father Lt Col Sabitti Ndagije met the mother in the pub and history has repeated itself the daughter died in a pub, where the mother also spent most of her years of working before she died in the early 1990’s. These very sad news got to the inyenyerinews on the night of the shooting, our editor who spoke to Lt Col Sabitti explained that the father sounded very sad on the phone and did not want to speak about the incident.

We contacted the close family members who stated that they do not know about the incident as politics has always divided their families but expressed their condolences to others in the family excluding Lt Col Sabiti who was facilitating the plan to get kill some other family members who disagree with the regime in Kigali.

others  explained that  According to the Rwandan military the incident took place on Sunday at around 4am at a club known as Hunters Sport.

The night club is based in Gisuma Cell, Byumba Sector, in Gicumbi district.

The soldier who has been linked to the crime is Private Théogene Munyembabazi.

The soldier is said to have been rejected by a girl identified as Flavia Kayitesi who refused his request to dance.

Munyembabazi allegedly responded by slapping her, prompting a close friend believed to the woman’s boyfriend to intervene with other people in the club joining the fight to throw the soldier out of the club. The soldier returned moments after with a gun and started shooting indiscriminately.

Those killed include; Flavia Kayitesi, Emile Nsengiyumva, Placide Niyigena and Assouman Murangira.

Major René Ngendahimana, the Deputy Military Spokesperson says that the act is contrary to the code of conduct of the Rwandan military.

He further reveals that the suspect has already been arrested and that investigations into the matter are under way.

According to Emmanuel Hitayezu the Northern Province Regional Police Spokesperson, the club had only one entry which also served as an exit and that it was hard for the customers to escape the shooting.
